How powerful is education in changing the world?
Education, in the real sense of the word, is not only what we learn in schools and colleges.
It means the all round development of a person, replete with moral values, and the sense of right and wrong.
Moral education needs to be imparted. They influence the outlook of a person towards the world, and instill in him/her a sense of responsibility.
Such people are an asset to the society.
Morality in people reduce crimes, and people come forward to ban outdated superstitions, some of which are flawed.
Proper sex education should be imparted to students. Otherwise, they learn from the wrong sources and cause harm to themselves as well as others. They should be taught the meaning of consent. Only then will crimes such as rapes and harassment will decrease.
I’ve seen parents, on seeing poor people, telling their children, “Study, otherwise you’ll become like them». This is absolutely not the way. Parents need to say, “Study, so that you’ll be able to make a better world for them”.
Education, when imparted in the right way, can brighten millions of lives.
